No matter whether you’re a person who gets sun burned easily or not, you MUST remember to bring sunscreen if you’re planning on visiting Arizona. Even if you’re planning a trip in early spring, or mid to late fall, you will absolutely burn under the scorching desert sun. Arizona is a beautiful place to visit, but it gets hot! While at home you might be bundling up in cozy outfits in March or October, in Arizona you’re going to be sweating so make sure to bring sunscreen for you and your family!

Water is the essence of life and it is extremely important to remember to drink lots of it when visiting Arizona. Arizona has a very dry climate and it’s going to make you very thirsty! Even if you’re just walking around downtown Phoenix, or Tempe remember to drink lots of water, especially in the summer.

If you’re planning a hiking trip anywhere in the state, bring more water than you think you need. Have enough? BRING MORE!

We can’t stress just how important staying hydrated is in the desert. Passing out from dehydration is no fun.

Water is so important to remember when traveling to Arizona that we had to put it on this list twice. DRINK LOTS OF WATER.

Arizona is home to 13 different species of rattlesnakes. While that might sound scary, snakes prefer to be left alone and don’t necessarily seek out humans to bite. They would much rather mind their own business and bask in the sun or hide under rocks than come up and bite you.

With that being said, accidents can happen. Avoid sticking your hands or arms inside rock crevices and try to avoid hiking in thick brush. Keep an eye on kids as well and let them know to be careful where they walk. The last place you want you or your family to end up at on your trip to Arizona is in the hospital!

If you’re going to be in bustling city areas like Phoenix or Tucson, rattlesnakes really should not be much of a concern. However, if you plan on hiking and enjoying the great outdoors during the spring, summer, and early fall , keep an eye out!

Arizona is home to one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is what draws most tourism to the state, and as such receives tons of visitors from all over the world.

No matter where you are visiting Arizona from, remember to respect it. Leave the Grand Canyon or anywhere else you visit in the same, or better condition than you found it in.
